A LOT WITH LITTLE
Exhibition: Curator and Producer (current)
A Lot With Little presents the inspiring work of ten architects from across the globe who have used ingenuity to tackle the climatic, social and economic crises of our time, respecting local culture and emphasising ethical and resource-efficient solutions.
A multichannel film installation showcases selected projects in their existing settings, alongside interviews with the architects themselves. The exhibition offers an insight into the design challenges, enabling the visitor to experience the feeling of inhabiting these spaces, instead of merely responding to their visual appeal.
Featured architects: Mariam Issoufou Kamara, Marta Peris & José Toral, Mauricio Rocha, Inge Vinck & Jan de Vylder, Solano Benitez, Marina Tabassum, Shigeru Ban, Francis Kéré, Marta Maccaglia, Lacaton & Vassal.

Lina Bo Bardi was an Italo-Brazilian architect who created a culture of convivial diversity such as in Sesc Pompéia, São Paulo, a leisure centre designed in the 70’s, where she organised space without hierarchy, to create an inclusive environment where the old and the young still interact to this day.
Breaking with the traditions of conventional architectural exhibitions, Noemi’s curatorial concept for the Lina Bo Bardi: Together exhibition was to recreate the experience of inhabiting Lina’s architecture. This was achieved through a film and art installation within a specially crafted setting and opened to great acclaim at the British Council in September 2012. Thereafter the exhibition toured to Vienna, Basel, Paris, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Berlin, Milan, Treviso, Chicago, Miami and concluded in Sao Paulo in 2016.

Book: Writer and Editor (2020)
Arper commissioned Noemí to write a book on the exhibition’s legacy. As well as detailed essays on Lina and her work, it tells the story of how the exhibition was conceived and executed. A journey that brought together a unique team of creatives and makers to throw light on the work and ideals of Lina Bo Bardi. The book also narrates how Arper brought to life Lina’s extraordinary Bowl Chair. The book was designed by Micha Weidmann Studio.
Container for Thought
Curated by Clare Farrow and Noemí Blager
"A meditation on the theme of trees”, initially conceived for the John Madejski Garden, V&A, London © Shigeru Ban
"Container for Thought” is the first experimental meeting of architecture, music and furniture design, by Japanese musician, composer and environmentalist Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Japanese architect, humanitarian and 2014 Pritzker Prize-winner Shigeru Ban. It is a response to the global climate emergency and the increasingly urgent need for nature, humanity and technology to co-exist in harmony. It remains ongoing, subject to the enduring challenge of securing investment in the arts.
"The experience will be one of moving shadows, intertwining scents and music vibrations, with the sounds floating like perfume in the architectural space … In the shelves, there will be a variety of books ... Lying on the bench and reading these books, I want to be surrounded and enveloped by sound. ... Sunlight will filter through the roof, and the shadows will sway with the wind.”
Shigeru Ban, www.shigerubanarchitects.com
"Why isn’t there music as a beautiful object? I have a strong vision of being in a purposeless space, appreciating music that floats in the air like an aroma, using all the senses."
"To listen to the voices of nature is to listen to our original inspirations."
